Gurrumul has just returned from a fabulous European tour. Highlights from this eight (8) concert tour include: a sell out concertin Zurich, Switzerland where the audience went wild with excitement: high impact press and television coverage in France, where the general population's response to Gurrumul was more than positive; and an overwhelming positive response from people all over Europe to Gurrumul and his music. In Belgium and France, TV helped to herald Gurrumul's arrival and Gurrumul got to meet two of his favourite artists - Sting and Will-i-am from the Black Eyed Peas. Another favourite for both Gurrumul and Andrew, from Dramatico, was the shopping jaunt that saw them buy those 'hard to find' items ...and music of course. On Wednesday 16 December 2009, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu appeared with Sting on the French television show Taratata, to perform a duet of "Every Breath You Take" (one of the Police's biggest hits). The performance featured Gurrumul singing some of the song in his native Gumjatj language. Both singers harmonised and played guitar as they sang to a large studio audience in Paris. With this broadcast, Gurrumul's winning debut solo album continues to dominate the charts across Europe. Watch the performance here
Another television performance (One Shot Not) will go to air in early February 2010.
